Farewell

Rayan and Magliana were trying to recover an old staff artefact before the forces of Iuz could put a hand on it. Unfortunately, they found themselves trapped and forced to retreat back into the farthest room of the forgotten tomb. No escape possible except for a potion gaseous form for one of them who can save his life as well as the Shadow Staff. For the other, an anguishing wait before howling demons and gnolls break the door.

"Do not worry, Magliana, said Rayan, bleeding from dozens of cuts and bruises. Save yourself and this bloody staff. I'm a lucky die-hard bastard. If someone can survive this, it's me or..."
"You know nothing Rayan! Stop boasting like a unseasoned youngster! I'm so sorry I've led you there..."
"You're not the one to blame, I came willingly..."
The door cracked and splinters flew across the room.
"Now go, you must hurry, said Rayan a bit of tiredness in his voice.
"Farewell, my friend, farewell."
Then she bent Rayan's neck towards her and kissed him ardently, tears in her eyes, before quaffing the potion.
